Do my parents have to claim me as a dependent on their taxes for me to stay on their health insurance plan?

No! The Affordable Care Act requires insurance companies to cover young adults on their parent’s plan until age 26 if the plan offers dependent coverage, regardless of tax status, student enrollment, state of residence, or marital status.
