Bio

Dr. Melinda Ratini is a member of the WebMD medical review team and is responsible for helping to ensure the medical accuracy of WebMD’s content. As a Family Practitioner, Dr. Ratini has an active clinical practice that has allowed her to identify first hand the information needs of real patients and their families. Being a doctor-mom to three children has helped her understand what parents need to know to help keep their families safe and healthy. Dr. Ratini is on staff at Lower Bucks Hospital, St. Mary Medical Center, and Aria Health in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Dr. Ratini is board-certified in both Family Practice and Geriatrics.

In addition to being involved in direct patient care, Dr. Ratini has devoted much of her professional career to the crafting of medical information in a way that allows the consumer to take steps toward getting and staying healthy. In this capacity, she has served as a medical director for the editorial division of one of the largest healthcare companies in the US, as well as serving as a medical consultant/editor for numerous medical communication, patient education and population health management firms. Other areas of expertise include the development of interactive tools and programs that help demystify complicated medical topics.  
 
Dr. Ratini is also a well respected editor of clinical material geared towards physicians. She has served as an editor for the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners. She was also a Clinical Editor for Harrison's Practice, the online version of one of the most recognized and well respected medical textbooks for physicians.

Her medical degree is from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. where she received the Glasgow award from the American Medical Women’s Association. In addition, Dr. Ratini also holds an M.S. in Information Science from Drexel University and a B.S. in Biology from Pennsylvania State University.
