Split my lip open a year ago had 16 stitches. I have a bump on my lip. Will this heal or do I have to get it removed?

I feel and split my lip open a year ago and had 16 stitches. I have a bump on my lip now and does not seem to be healing. What causes this?  Will this heal or do I have to get it removed by a plastic surgeon?

See a plastic surgeon..... This can be scar tissue or perhaps, a tiny piece of retained suture material.
