What is most concerning is that you don't check your blood sugars often. It's possible that an infection could increase your sugars, but you need to stay on top of it. I suggest making an appointment with your doctor to get lab work done including an hemoglobin A1C. This will give you an idea of what your average blood sugars have been over the past few months. Then, you'll want to be more vigilant with diet and checking your blood sugar.

I would make an appointment with you gastric bypass doctor for follow up if you haven't already. Take care of yourself!
