Q.

Why does a deep massage make me so sleepy the next day?

The muscles in my back neck and shoulders are consistently (painfully and affecting range of motion) tight.  I get a massage every week or 2 weeks and the next day the muscles feel much better but I am consistently sleepy (not tired, sleepy).  On the occasions where I buy an extended massage session (like yesterday), I try to fall asleep every time I sit down.  I find research on lactic acid in the muscles, but not much on what happens when it is released into the blood.
