can nightmares kill you in your sleep?

can nightmares contribute to people that die in their sleep?

( aside from any illnesses such as cancer or a tramatic accident )

Everything I've read about this is more 'folklore-ish' - and not backed up by medical science.

I can't find anything that would back this up so for now, I'm going with 'no' but I'm obviously not a doc.
