To prevent constipation, it is important to eat lots of fiber and drink water. Foods such as vegetables, fruits and whole grains usually contain a good amount of fiber. Bananas have lower fiber content than most other fruits but still have some fiber, so if you eat one or two a day along with other fruits and vegetables, they should not cause constipation. Some other high fiber options are berries, prunes, pears, beans, and artichokes. Also, remember, to drink lots of water!
