Can putting baby oil in your hair and/or on your scalp help repair damaged hair?

Coating your hair with oil, silicone, or dimethicone-based products can certainly help replace the shine that may be lost with excessive chemical processing. However, it will only last until the next shampoo. The best way to repair the hair permanently is to allow it to grow in without using any harsh treatments.
