Acetaminophen and ibuprofen are the two best over-the-counter fever relievers. You should check with your pharmacist to determine the proper dose for the patient.

Also, keep in mind that most fevers occur due to some sort of infection. So it is usually recommended that you see your doctor if you are running a fever.
