Kidney infection is a general term. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) involve the kidneys, the bladder, urethra, and prostate. The common symptoms of urinary tract infections are sudden, typically with frequency, urgency, and burning or painful voiding of urine, nocturia, pain in lower abdomen and often low back pain, urethral discharge with pus or blood (in severe conditions) and fever.
